THE BIG PICTURE :
We´re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to be responsible for the development of User Interfaces for consumer electronics devices. You should have strong object-oriented programming skills and be familiar with production level software development, ideally on embedded devices. You should also possess a thorough understanding of automated unit testing, have experience with version control systems, and a familiarity with UI/UE design and development.
THE EVERYDAY VIEW
Interface with product management to determine and refine product requirements, as well as assist in the design process, providing documentation that supports the product requirements and software architecture. Implement high quality, production-level code targeted for an embedded device at the UI/Application layer. Lead and participate in code reviews and assure that code is written to allow scalability and portability to multiple platforms. Mentor and assist junior level Engineers to resolve difficult problems.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Five years of experience in software development with a focus on object oriented design.
- Education: Bachelor´s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two years of experience with the following: - C, C++, Java, or JavaScript - Version control systems such as Subversion, VSS, or -CVS - Agile development, preferably Scrum
- Experience in teams operating in an Agile development process including iterative development, continuous builds, and TDD is a plus.
- Strong OO development skills and familiarity with basic software design patterns.
- User Interface development experience, specifically in Flash/Actionscript, is a plus.
- Linux experience is a plus
- Embedded development experience preferred
