职位描述
THE BIG PICTURE
We´re looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to do software design and development, and lead systems engineers in implementing complex, multi-threaded, dynamic loading, native code for execution on Linux-based devices. Domain areas include integration of third-party services such as Advertising, Metrics Servers, and multi-media sources. A primary focus of the software is to manage data collection from numerous sources and make it available to a user interface running on the device.
THE EVERYDAY VIEW
Design, develop, and maintain native executables for embedded devices running Linux. Executables will often be multi-threaded and will require general OS-level integration including interoperation with the communication stack.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Five years of experience as an embedded or system software developer using standard development-house tools such as version control and bug tracking systems.
- Experience with client-server architecture is a plus.
- Experience with Media-based communications protocols, encoding standards, and DRM, are a plus.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field. Graduate degree is a plus.
- Strong development and design skills in the following technology areas: C++, C, development of Linux OS executables: shared libraries, daemons, socket programming. Also, Shell scripting, Make, and XML parsing.
- Additional desired skills include:
- Functional development skills or willingness to learn scripting language such as Python and Java.
- Ability to develop device driver-level code.
- UML diagramming
- Experience in teams operating in an Agile development process including iterative development, continuous builds, and TDD is a plus.
- Strong OO development skills and familiarity with basic software design patterns.
- The ideal candidate will have a desire to monitor industry technology trends and recommend to the team better ways to implement solutions, improve quality, and move more quickly.
